cephalopods

ABOUT CEPHALOPODS
Cephalopods are a group of marine invertebrates that consist of squid, octopi, nautilus and cuttlefish. They are classified by their bilateral body symattrey and their set of tenctacles that are modifications of the 'foot' found in other moluscs. They are sometimes informally refered to as 'inkfish' due to their ability to spray ink to conceal themselves and escape predators.
Below is a comprehensive list of all the cephalopods I have observed in the wild in Whyalla and its surrounding regions.
Southern Reef Squid
Sepioteuthis australis

Australian Giant Cuttlefish
Ascarosepion apama
